At Gaziantep Private Bossan Hospital, we observed World Tuberculosis Day by setting up an interactive Tuberculosis Awareness Stand in our main entrance hall and, on the same day, hosting a staff training session on “Tuberculosis Diagnosis & Infection Control.”

Stand Activities

• What Is Tuberculosis?
  Brochures and posters explaining transmission routes, symptoms, and treatment processes of Mycobacterium tuberculosis

• Risk Factors Display:
  Infographics highlighting triggers such as weakened immunity, poor nutrition, and crowded living conditions

• BCG Vaccination & Preventive Measures:
  Information on vaccination schedules, proper mask usage, and hygiene recommendations

• Q&A Corner:
  One-on-one consultations with Chest Diseases Specialist Dr. Özgür ÜĞÜDÜR and Infection Control Nurse Ayşe SARICA

• Visual Experience Zone:
  A live demo of “Cough Etiquette” showing hygienic coughing and breathing techniques

Our stand was open from 09:00 to 17:00, providing visitors with comprehensive data on TB statistics in Turkey as well as guidance on prevention and early detection.

The training was led by Chest Diseases Specialist Dr. Özgür ÜĞÜDÜR and Infection Control Nurse Ayşe SARICA. Participants reinforced their practical skills through case studies, role-play exercises, and up-to-date guidelines.
